Iranian ballistic missiles striking Israeli territory have achieved a dramatically higher success rate in recent weeks, according to military analysts monitoring the ongoing conflict, with accuracy figures rising sharply from an estimated three percent recorded during the initial two weeks of exchanges.

The development marks a significant shift in the strategic calculus of the conflict, suggesting that Iranian forces have adapted their targeting systems, launch trajectories, or missile variants in response to early operational data. Defence analysts note that even a modest improvement in penetration rates against layered Israeli air defence systems — including the Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Arrow interceptors — carries substantial strategic implications for the wider regional security environment.

Israel has not issued official figures on interception rates or the number of missiles that reached their intended targets. The Israeli military has consistently maintained that its multi-layered missile defence architecture intercepts the overwhelming majority of incoming projectiles, a claim that independent observers have found increasingly difficult to verify as the intensity of exchanges escalates.

For Gulf states, the trajectory of this conflict carries immediate economic and security consequences. Qatar, which hosts the forward headquarters of United States Central Command at Al Udeid Air Base and maintains active diplomatic channels with Tehran, has consistently called for de-escalation and a negotiated framework to prevent the conflict from broadening into a regional conflagration. Qatari officials have warned that sustained military exchanges between Iran and Israel risk destabilising shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz and driving further volatility in global energy markets.

The Qatari government has not commented directly on the latest missile effectiveness figures. Doha's longstanding position holds that regional security can only be achieved through dialogue and the full implementation of international law, including a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, which Qatari mediators have worked to broker in sustained negotiations with all relevant parties.
